Ziggy is our 2 yr old bichion.  He loves everyone but is very hyper and just harrasses my customers to death so he is usually in the kitchen during shop hours behind a gate. He loves to be petted and will kiss you if you let him.

Ellie is our resident Kitty. She is 5 yrs old and black and white. Miss Ellie is a very sweet, dignified lady who loves people and often comes into the shop to be petted and admired.

In the sunroom there is a huge cage where our 19 yr old African grey parrot, McBeth spends most of his time.  He loves attention from visitors just don’t put fingers in cage as he is rather territorial.  Macbeth often confuses customers by wolf whistling at them. He has a big vocabulary  and mimics many sounds such as the phone and microwave which is sometimes confusing.  He only talks when he feels like it, often starting after you leave the room.

All our pets are considered family and are treated as such.  All get good vet care and Ziggy gets allergy shots and medication.  Ellie and Ziggy both loved to be brushed and Ziggy goes to the groomers for haircuts etc in between the baths I give him.  I try to walk Ziggy every day which is also part of my selfcare. It makes him less hyper and keeps me sane.

Mcbeth loves to eat and I feed him a very varied diet, this morning he had apples,leftover potatoes and his seed and pellet mixture.

We also have a few tropical fish in an aquarium in the shop and gold fish in the outdoor pond.  So that’s the pet story!!!!!  Thank you to all the customers who have been so patient and loving to the animals.  They are not always angels!!!  Stop in some time and teach McBeth a new song!

There’s a new sheriff in town and her name is Ellie.

Ellie came to us from my niece, Kate, and her wonderful hubby, Mike.  I know it was very hard for them to part with Ellie but Mike’s allergies kept getting worse and worse.  Katey is well on her way to becoming the first Doctor in the family as a grad student and Professor at University of Delaware. Mike is a teacher and coach at William Penn in Delaware where he coached the basketball team to a State Championship last year. We’re really proud of both of them.

I wasn’t sure we were ready for another cat with Ozzy so fresh in our memories but when Katey was having trouble finding someone to take Ellie we decided to do it.  Ellie and Ziggy didn’t get along very well at first.  Ziggy can be a bit in your face and Ellie was definitely not a fan. 

There was much hissing and swiping any time they would meet. Ellie didn’t realize that she really has the upper paw until one day when she was cornered by the little white monster and she took a swipe at his nose.  Ziggy has been much more respectful ever since and Ellie now goes wherever she wants whenever she wants.

Ellie runs to greet just about everyone who comes in the shop and get petted. When not practicing for Walmart she lounges around the shop most of the time.

She is settling in very nicely but she doesn’t care for our little Bichon, Ziggy. Who could blame her as Ziggy has been rather rude. When she’s had enough of him she retreats to the basement. Ziggy is afraid to go down the basement steps for some reason!?

As soon as she gets her bearings and grows in confidence she will soon be hanging around the shop more. She really is quite affectionette and loves to be petted and brushed. Ellie is very feminine and has little dainty feet compared to our late departed, and greatly missed Ozzie.
Oz was so huge and galumphed around the place with those huge feet of his.
