Now that the nest is empty, I am a very lucky woman in that I have a whole room for my closet. I adore my dressing room. There are 2 actual closets in the room which I have stuffed, although I just switched to all wood hangers.

When we bought the house, the ceiling in this room was falling down, the wiring was unsafe and walls were a disaster. My husband fixed all this and painted and hung a chandelier. I made curtains out of thrift shop fabric, we hauled home a chaise from Salvation army, put up shelving for purses and shoes, and then loaded up my vintage waterfall furniture with all my STUFF. I have way too much everything, especially shoes, vintage jewelry and vintage purses.

I always feel good in this space and love being surrounded by all my things. It inspires me to be creative in my dressing.
