vintage earrings

by JoAnn

Thurs. May 29

I’ve just priced lots of new earrings for the shop.  pierced, clip, and screw back.  Incredible variety.

I think they are very attractively priced, especially compared to new jewelry.

Every thing comes from China now, and some of it isn’t very good quality.

I’m into old rhinestone jewelry and I love big rhinestone pins, the flashier the better.  I also love huge old cocktail rings.

My personal style is pretty exuberant. Being a vintage fashion dealer I can get away with it! At least I think I can!

I do have many lovely delicate jewelry pieces for those of you whose taste runs in that direction.

Anyhow, what I really want to write about is this – does any one out there know how to convert clip or screwback earrings to pierced?   I’m not talking about altering special signed pieces. Some of these earrings are so unique and beautiful I would love to wear them but can ‘t tolerate clips.

Many of my customers do buy clips and I’m always amazed at the endless variety of earrings.

People don’t dress up like they used to but I have observed many a woman letting her inner diva out in my shop!
