I just got back to the shop after having a great experience.
Rick babysat the store for a few hours while I was a vender at the Queens luncheon at a local restaurant in Red Lion today.
Roxie Woolridge , who heads a local Red Hat Ladies chapter invited me. She and her posse of delightful friends [...]

I just joined a forum called the fedora lounge and found some very fascinating people and discussions on the topics that interest me the most-vintage!!
Some of the ladies are vintage fashion experts and devoted to collecting and wearing. I think I like the powder room section best. Mostly ladies.
It was started for men as a [...]

Ziggy is at the groomers today for the first time. I hope he is not too stressed.
Bichons are a high maintenance dog when it comes to grooming, and I just gave up trying to maintain him myself and decided to let a pro do it.
I can’t wait to see him, I bet he’s going [...]

I’ve just priced lots of new earrings for the shop. pierced, clip, and screw back. Incredible variety.
I think they are very attractively priced, especially compared to new jewelry.
Every thing comes from China now, and some of it isn’t very good quality.
I’m into old rhinestone jewelry and I love big rhinestone pins, the flashier [...]

Today at the shop a lady came in with a few things to sell plus her lovely 1959 wedding dress she was finally ready to part with.
Her name is Nedra Rank and I’m sure many local people know her as she had a 37 yr. career teaching jr. high at York Suburban and Red Lion [...]

It’s always interesting being in the shop and noticing trends in what people are looking at and buying. The trick in the vintage business is to acquire items that fit the trends in a business where you can’t go to a wholesaler and say send me 20 of this or that.
Vintage in general is definitely [...]

Today was such a fun day at the shop.
The commute is great (I live above the store) , snacks are handy and I can keep an eye on Ziggy, my bichon puppy, and Ozzie, my ginormous black cat.
I sold lots of costume jewelry, linens, a purse, and various cards.
The best part of the day was [...]

I spent a few enjoyable hours today ironing a pile of lovely vintage linens that I soaked and cleaned yesterday.
This indicates how crazy I am for vintage because I don’t iron anything I actually wear and my husband of 31 yrs has to send dress shirts to the cleaners to be ironed.
I bought the box [...]
